The 2000 Show

We had a very successful 91st show this year packing 2659 blooms into beautiful old Floral Hall at Everett's Forest Park. The competition was outstanding and the blooms were magnificent thanks to a gorgeous summer here in the Pacific Northwest. When the dust had settled, three members of our own society walked away with major awards. Steve Santose garnered Best Single Dahlia in the Show with a flawless bloom of Edna C. Dick Ambrose won Best Three Bloom entry in the Show with expertly matched blooms of Inland Dynasty and Dave Eldridge won the Best Basket in the Show with old standby, Mary Jo. Only Pauline Fanning from the Washington State Dahlia Society was able to break our hold on the major awards by capturing the Best Arrangement in the Show with a vertical entry featuring her own introduction of Pagoda.
