The competition is open to all amateur photographers, and there is no entry fee. Photographs must have been taken by the exhibitor in 2008 or 2009.
Only prints will be accepted, with no minimum size and maximum size of 8 X 12 and MUST be either flush mounted or window matted on an 11 X 14 mat (White 11 X 14 mat board with mounting corners will be available for $1.00 each at the show).
Images must be representative of the class entered, and dahlias must predominate.
Photographers will be given a photography exhibitor.s number when they register for the photography competition in Spruce Hall, and this number must appear on exhibitor.s entry form and on the back of each entry. Entries will be received Friday 6-10 PM and Saturday 7-9:30 AM
Your name, exhibitor.s number, class entered, and title, must be attached or written on the back of each mat. Removable labels will be provided if needed.
No glass, plastic, or frame clips will be allowed, print and mat only. If you window mat, print, window mat and backing mat (if used, but recommended) must be fixed together.
Photographs will be judged on content, composition and photographic excellence by a professional photographer(s).
Entrants may submit a maximum of two images per class, and the same image cannot be entered in more than one class. It shall be the responsibility of the exhibitor to pick up their entries after the show. Prints MAY NOT be removed from display before 4:30 pm Sunday.
Enhanced or altered images may only be entered in class 326, Artistic Impression. Basic correction such as brightness, contrast, and color adjustment can be used in any class, but manipulation, multiple images, distortion, filters and other alterations, are only allowed in class 326.
All entries will be registered, accepted, displayed and picked up at Spruce Hall.
Prizes in each division will consist of Ribbons for First, Second, Third place, and an additional award will be given to each first place winner, and the Best in Show.
